The African country of Uganda is one of the world’s largest consumers of bananas. But for every ton of the fruit, plantations leave behind two tons of refuse. TexFad transforms them into tough fiber that can be woven into rugs, place mats, and even hair extensions.

Good for them. It's funny when opinions are given as a negative from someone that doesn't live in the country and doesn't live in their culture. The difference is, is that he is not doing it for propaganda. It's spiritual for them. For her it's a political view. She needs to stay out of it. God bless him and success for his country to be independent, and by saving the environment by recycling a natural product that's beneficial for many and nice looking.

In banana plant nothing is a India we use banana leaves for eating food instead of plates (you can search in google and see photos)..its very nutritious and has medical benefits...some people take fibre and make dresses, mats etc...the innermost white part of the banana plant we make dishes like we do with other vegetables and also increases urine output and get rid of kidney stones...if we do dont utilise these they decay in the land within some months

I should say a thing about this, I am from India and I think it's a great inciative to do such things and making use of banana stem. But we traditionally cook and eat them as it is really good for our gut and it mostly contains fibre. Acts as a medicine to does who face constipation. It too have water content and is good for our kidney too. So, I request the people all around the world to try the recipe that I have mentioned.
