Millions of Hindu worshippers start every day with a ritual offering of flowers. Temples dump those flowers into the Ganges, adding harmful chemicals and pesticides to a river that’s a lifeline for over 400 million people. Phool, an Indian startup, collects the discarded flowers and transforms them into handmade incense sticks.

I've been searching for a comment that mentions how incense sticks could contribute to air pollution and how incense sticks could potentially give you lung cancer. I'm not saying that recycling flower waste isn't good but the alternative they're demonstrating isn't any better. Before anyone come at me and say; "At least they're doing something, what about you?" I could hypocritically ask you the same.

I respect India's traditions and religion but if they relay too much on their beliefs and not knowing what actually happens to the environment from those tons of wastes, their gonna back-stab themselves before they even know it. PS: good work to those people in India who are contributing to make the environment a healthier place. Keep up the good work.

Dear person, genuine repentance and recitation of those words will protect you from Coronavirus: "Falun Dafa is Good! Truth, Compassion, Forbearance is Good!" Falun Dafa is a spiritual self cultivation practice of mind and body that improves both health and morality. It is based on Universal principles of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance. Since 1999 Falun Dafa practitioners are facing the most brutal persecution in the history of mankind at the hands of the Chinese communist party.

Let me ask something though, it was mentioned that these flowers contain pesticides, lead and arsenic, these doesn't exactly go away when being dried in the sun so is it safe to breathe them in later on when the flowers have turned into insence sticks?

About the chemicals being burnt. Those flowers are same as vegetables. If we are fine with eating vegetables made from pesticides then what's the problem here. And I am not sure about this but someone in the comments said that cadmium and arsenic take high temperatures to turn into gases so by burning these sticks they turn into ash and dont go to the atmosphere. Dont quote me on this part.
